  9. The Community Organizing Plan Context: • CBCRM Site – PO Managed Marine Sanctuaries • Only 30 PO members, less than half are active • PO has no link to BLGU but sits in the MFARMCs • Conflict among and between PO leaders and the community coastal residents

  10. lack of experience of CF in community organizing – especially working with community leaders • ACF has regular interaction with community • New “ManComm” Structure with PO-BLGU representatives and leadership conflicts

  11. Community Organizing • Is the process facilitating formation of groups, community social structures and norms that will be the vehicle for achieving desired development goals over a period of time • Is a broad strategy generally to empower communities to own the development process

CO Plan Objective • To outline a clear direction and strategy for the formation and strengthening of the newly formed Iniban Marine Sanctuary Management Committee • To increase capability of the CF in organizing community structure (ManComm) experientially • To have a measurable target and step by step strategy to guide the CF and ACF

Consideration for Cohort Application/ Adoption • It provides a very detailed pathway and strategy for ManComm • Good actionable plan and guide for CFs with low/ medium skills in CO • ACF-CF action plan • Can be very detailed, not applicable to sites with strong community structure • Facilitator needs a good background and understanding on development/ OD • Some assumptions are not really surfaced in the plan (Why this strategy, why this direction) PLUS DELTA

  18. Latest Update • CF has been using this plan to discuss work with ACF and Supervisor • CF and Supervisor is working on the design for the team building activity for the Management Committee • MENRO is now engaged
