Administrative & Legalissues: • Completion of the KRS registration process(2008) • Registration of BAS with Statistic Office, Inland Revenue and other regulators (2009) • BAS bank account set up and run • Monthly Management Board meetings • Cooperation with new Coordinator and tasks re-assignment British Alumni Society - Activity Report 2008-2009
Administrative & Legalissues: • Development of existing Partnerships with: • The British Embassy • Joint projects developed and carried out – grants received • New communications contributions by BAS • The British Council • Memorandum of understanding signed • Grant for assistance in running BAS received British Alumni Society - Activity Report 2008-2009
Membership-oriented activites: • BAS representatives at major Alumni and Student events: • Bratislava for Chevening 25th Anniversary • Budapest for CEU Alumni • UK for Polish Student Societies meeting • Open Meetings in Warsaw and Kraków • 4th Thursday of every month in Warsaw • Joint meetings in Kraków with the MBA club • 100 new applications over last year, accompanied by growing cohesion of the existing membership British Alumni Society - Activity Report 2008-2009

Projects & Eventsfor BAS members: • 2008 AGM at the Ambasador’s Residence in Warsaw • Public-Private Partnership Conference at the Polish Parliament • Mentoring Workshop and a roll-out of the Mentoring Programme • Group meetings: Science & Innovation, NGO, EU/Political British Alumni Society - Activity Report 2008-2009
Development & Networking • Cooperation with Alumni organizations from Ukraine, Russia, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary • Working with other groups of similar interest and membership (Polish Professionals in London and the Polish City Club) • Strenghtening our membership locally: • Interest Groups • Mentoring Scheme • The Kraków Group Networking for Success British Alumni Society - Activity Report 2008-2009
Managment board individual reports Sylwester Janik – BAS President • Representation of BAS in all legal aspects • Representation of BAS at important events • Meetings with HM Ambassador and Director of the British Council to establish a joint vision of the future of BAS and their support for our organisation • Chairing MB meetings Krystyna Pęczek – BAS Vicepresident • New division of Board activities after MM quits. • Active work on BAS projects to receive grants from the British Embassy • Coordination of S&I group activities. 2 meetings held in February and July of 2009 • Overseeing the setting up of the EU & Political group • Recruiting, evaluation and recommendation of Chevening candidates.
Managment board individual reports Karol Lasocki - Membership Officer • Recruiting almost 100 new BAS Members • Organizing BAS networking events - Open Meetings • Cooperating with Tomasz Makowski – organizer of Open Meetings in Kraków • Representing BAS at meetings of Polish Societies in the UK in 2009, Education Fairs in 2009, commencing cooperation with LSE Graduates and Oxbridge Society • Representing BAS at the International Studies Conference in Łódź • Co-developing cooperation with the British Embassy and British Council • Taking care of BAS legal issues, overseeing and organising BAS MB meetings
Managment board individual reports Leszek Jędrych - Finance and Fundraising Officer • Registration of BAS at Polish Inland Revenue (Urząd Skarbowy) • Running of BAS accounting and taking care of BAS financial issues like project budgets control, contacts with the bank and others • Preparation and organization of PPP conference in Polish Parliament – Project Manager & Fundraiser • Preparation of BAS marketing materials (notebooks, folders, pens) as part of PPP conference project • Promotion of BAS in different environments; Cooperation with Embassy and British Council representatives • Active work and participation in Management Board Meetings, Open Meetings, Interest Group Meetings.

Managment board individual reports Krzysztof Piskorski - Events Officer, acting Communications Officer: • Organisation: • AGM 2008 – December 2008 • BAS Mentoring Project (with AS) – March 2009 • BAS participation at Education Fairs - November 2009 • Help in preparation and running (www reports, photographic documentation, overseeing the work of the Coordinator): • PPP Conference – March 2009 • S&I Meetings – February and July 2009 • EU/Political meeting – July 2009 • NGO group Fundraising Workshop – August 2009 • LSE Pre-departure event – September 2009 • Development and promotion of communication via social networks • Cooperation with Embassy Staff – assisting in delivery of information, pictures and video materials • Representing BAS at the CEU Alumni meeting in Budapest – May 2009 and at the Chevening Scholarship Anniversary in Bratislava – October 2009
Managment board individual reports Aleksandra Męcińska – Secretary of the Board, acting Liaisons Officer • Handing over of legal and financial BAS matters to the appropriate MB Members upon BAS registration • Introduction of the recruited Coordinator to her duties, handing-over of responsibilities for mailings and database up-keep • Cooperation with Embassy and British Council representatives • Communication and cooperation with BAS members: • group leaders (EU/Political, NGO), • senior BAS members and previous BAS authorities • administration of BAS facebook and goldenline communities (shared) • PPP conference – PR services and logistic help • Preparation of Newsletters in connection with BAS activities • BAS ‘identity kit’ – overseeing the correct use of BAS branding and all outgoing BAS communication • Organisation of BAS NGO Fundraising workshop
Managment board individual reports Mariusz Markisz - Development Officer • Active in establishing contacts and building relations with British Alumni associations and groups in neighbouring countries (Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia) • Representing BAS at the FCO organised 25th anniversary of the Chevening Scholarship • Representing BAS at various Polish-British business and industry events • Help in establishing the Kraków branch, covering Southern Poland: 11 grudnia 2009 r. utworzono na wniosek członków Stowarzyszenia Oddział Stowarzyszenia Absolwentów Uniwersytetów Brytyjskich - Polska Południowa z siedzibą w Krakowie. Obszar działania to woj. śląskie, małopolskie, podkarpackie, opolskie i świętokrzyskie
