Picking Your Trumpet! • You need to decide on a Brand name. • Bach, Yamaha, Jupiter, etc. • Bach is the best choice! • Just buying a cheap Trumpet will result in a bad sound. • Don’t get a really expensive one but don’t get a piece of junk either!
Picking Your Color! • You there are many choices in color! • You can get the Traditional Silver or Gold or you can get any color under the rainbow! • Most kids in High School band choose the Gold. • If you go on to College Band, most people have Silver.
Picking Your Mouthpiece! • There are different many different sizes of Mouthpieces. • You have a number then a letter. For example: 5C • The smaller the number, the easier it is to hit higher notes.
Time To Start Playing! • You need to get a Method book and just start practicing. • Using the Method book will make you more familiar with your instrument and make you a much better player!
Join A Band! • Now that you have a Trumpet and have practiced, you need to be around other players. • Join a band with some friends or a High School Band. • The next step would to be to take Private lessons from someone older that way you can get advice and learn even more!
