1. Question 7-Looking at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

2. Research and planning • How have your skills developed and what benefit has this had on your work? Since creating my preliminary task magazine I have developed more skills that I found useful in the production of my main magazine task. I have managed to develop skills with using different computer programs as well as online media formats and programs. In the process I have developed skills in using Photoshop this is where I have learnt how to edit images with different techniques. For example I have manage d to develop skills in cloning images, cutting images, changing contrast/colours as well as separating the image into layers and working on each layer separately creating a new image as well as adding to original images. I have been able to sort out mistakes made when taking the photographs e.g. blurs. I have become more familiar with online programs like prezi,wordle,bubbl, and voki. I have learnt how to put my work and research found into these different programs represent my work in a more technological way making it more interesting as well as showing the skills I have learnt and I am capable of. I have learnt in the process how to use an online blog and how to put all my work into this blog. The media formats have allowed me to put information into the blog easily. I feel that the skills I have developed in this process has allowed me to create a magazine with a more professional look as well as professional contents.

Did you produce work more in line with professional practice as you have a more detailed understanding of the forms and conventions of real media products? i feel that the preliminary task has shown me how to create a magazine with more of a professional look. While researching for my main task I looked at professional magazine and there layouts. I focused more on magazine that targeted audiences similar to mine. I then looked at the magazine in more detail to see what exactly attracted the target audience to the magazine. I felt that the magazine layout and images on the front made a huge impact on how the magazine itself was represented and sold to the target audience. These are the 3 main magazine layouts I looked at when researching for my main task. • Kerrang-

4. 2. Bliss- 3. Boho When looking at these magazines they all have similarities with the front cover layout. The front cover has one main image taking over the whole page this directing its main focus. The magazine still have little articles surrounding the main image. I use this to give my magazine a more professional look and to attract the same target audience. With the contents page of my magazine I created a different layout with once again with a main image I felt it still attracted even with a simplistic design. I felt that looking at these magazine gave me more insight into professional magazine as well as the understand in the ways they attract consumers this allowed me to create a magazine with the same purpose and more understanding.

5. Did you manage your time better? When producing this magazine I felt that I managed my time well with the research and the planning of the magazine however I do think I could of started the making of the main magazine piece sooner to ensure that I would have no doubts with my magazine when the deadline came. • Was your work well planned? I feel that with the amount of planning and research that I did leading up to my final product allowed me to have a well planned final piece. Changing my target audience close to the end however did make things more difficult, but I felt that I could create a magazine targeted at this audience well and create something that would stand out more.

6. Construction When looking at both magazines I feel that the amount of skills I have developed with computer based programs as well as online programs has given me the chance to create a higher standard magazine. I've managed to produce a magazine that has a layout similar to that of a professional magazine. They layout of the preliminary task magazine is basic and doesn’t have many similarities to a professional magazine. When creating the preliminary task magazine I used basic software and did not experiment into online programs or even try different computer based programs. This is where I could of improved on my preliminary task magazine but this has allowed me to learn and to do this in my main task magazine. Preliminary task magazine- Main task magazine-

7. Photography in my magazine- With this magazine I took photographs that would link back to the target audience for example young female model. Reflecting the target audience of teenage females. I took photographs of fashion pieces that I felt linked to the fashion styles that went along side the music genre featured in the magazine. I took photographs of instruments that would be linked to the music and band featured in the magazine. When taking photographs i took two different shot styles with the female models. Model 1 Model 2 Mise-en-scene In my main image photograph I had a female model, the camera shot was head on shot. The background of the photograph was a forest. The costume in which the female wore had relevance to the magazine. The beats head phones link into the type of music genre and the audience created through that music genre. The converse shoes once again linked with the fashion within the magazine. I did a straight on camera shot. This camera angle was worms eye view

8. Fonts within my magazine- • When creating my magazine I used online fonts for the main heading within my magazine I got the fonts off of this website- http://www.1001freefonts.com/ These are the 3 main font I in my magazine from this website.
