  2. Early Years Born in Preston, Lancashire, UK (1928). • While he was in the Royal Navy (1946-48) … • .. his parents • moved to Vancouver ! Grew up in Blackpool. Went to Arnold School, Lytham Rd. 35th POMs - Waterloo - 2007

Vancouver 5 Scholarships and 2 prizes in 3 years. • 1948-53, he worked for Coca-cola (!) & an “electrical company”. • Won the Governor-general’s • Gold Medal winner ! • For top undergrad marks. • In 1953, m.
