  7. PROCESSING OF ISO/IEC STANDARDS FOR ADOPTION PREPARATION OF NATIONAL FOREWORD • A formal paragraph establishes the national/international identity. This includes number, the year of publication and title of the international standard together with the name and abbreviation of the organization that was responsible for its issue.

DIFFICULTIES IN ADOPTING ISO / IEC STANDARDS • Non availability of raw materials to meet stipulated requirements • Different standard test conditions • Non availability of testing facilities • Non availability of equivalent standards for cross-referred standard • Difficulty with cross-referred standards other than ISO such as API, ASME, ASTM etc.
