  2. 23. producer- • An organism that can make its own food • Any organism that can perform photosynthesis is a producer • All plants are producers Both the wheat and the tree are producers

  3. What about a venus fly trap? • Yes, it is a producer because it performs photosynthesis

  4. 24. Consumer- An elephant doesn’t eat the same thing as a ….. • An organism that obtains energy by feeding on other organisms • There are different types of consumers • For instance… Bird, which doesn’t eat the same thing as a....... Lion!!!

  7. 27. Omnivore- • A consumer that eats both plants and animals • Humans are omnivores, what are some others?

  8. More examples of consumers: • A fox is a consumer, can you name what kind of consumer it is? • *a fox is an omnivore! • What about a deer? • *a deer is an herbivore • Now, what about a dog???

  9. Were you right? • A dog is a true carnivore, however, since dogs have been domesticated sometimes they are classified as omnivores • How do we know it is a true carnivore, • Look at a dogs teeth!
