CRAG Member Achievements since October 2012 • 2 new Community Advisory Boards (CABs) formed • Uganda • Peru • Co-authored Lancet Infectious Diseases publication on community engagement in TB research • “Engaging communities in TB Research,”Lancet ID (2013) • World TB Day activities and advocacy • South Texas World TB Day walk / run • Congressional meetings in Washington, D.C. • Awareness raising through social media (diamundialtb.org)

  6. CRAG Achievements: conference submissions • CRAG submitted an abstract on M&E for community engagement in TB research to the • Dorothy Namutamba also submitted an abstracts to the Union Conference • Barbara Seaworth will present on abstract at the NTCA annual meeting

Ongoing CRAG activities • Finalizing an M&E framework for CRAG member activities • Support from LakshmyMenon, CDC Field Services and Evaluation Branch • Measures CRAG impact across multiple levels: • TBTC • Communities • Trial sites • Policymakers • CRAG members • Measures CRAG impact in multiple domains: • knowledge • attitudes • practices

  8. Ongoing CRAG Activities • Advocating for increased access to sutezolid and rifapentine for TB programs and research consortia • Advocating for increased funding and political will for TB research • - Translated Treatment Action Group TB R&D Funding Report into Spanish

Upcoming CRAG Activities • Supporting Good Participatory Practice guidelines adoption in TB drug trials - Workshop on community engagement at Union conference - NIH R21 Grant on GPP • Consulting on S29x informed consent evaluation survey • Increasing CRAG involvement in reviewing early drafts of protocols • Increasing CRAG involvement in disseminating research findings to study participants
