Diction The choice and use of words and phrases in speech or writing; style
Syntax The arrangement of words and phrases to create well-formed sentences in a language
Imagery Visually descriptive or figurative language
Classification Categorization, the process in which ideas and objects are recognized, differentiated, and understood
Tone Attitudes toward the subject and toward the audience implied in piece of writing. A piece of writing has at least one theme, or central question about a topic, and how the theme is approached within the work is known as the tone.
