Individual entitlements Obligations of stakeholders Confidence and trust Credibility and legitimacy Council conclusions Dublin, May 2004 Common Principles for validation of non-formal and informal learning
Examination (Self-)Declaration Observation Simulation Documentation, specimens - and combinations of these (Danielle Colardyn, ADMEE, 2004) Cost/benefit? Main methods for validation of non-formal/informal competences
Formal, de jure recognition, a “right”: > access, certificate, credit = substitution, measure, “gauge” de facto recognition: civil effect > a job: context dependent, subjective? “Bilan des competences”, mapping: > Self-awareness, self respect, new opportunities; What I am good at? describe, “guide” Different purposes - a communication process, relevance, context
credibility relevance confidence trust …. > comparability, convergence Prerequisites for good communication - Bridges for recognition
