Donatello Education • His father was Niccolo di BettoBardi, a member of the Florentine Wool Combers Guild. • He was educated at the home of the Martellis • They were a wealthy and influential family of bankers and art patrons.
First Job • Donatello apprenticed with Ghiberti. • He assisted Ghiberti in creating cathedral doors for the Baptistery of the Florence Cathedral. • He also had a close relationship with Cosimo de Medici
