  17. THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW GENERATION PRISONS Department of Correctional Services GENERAL COMMENTS KIMBERLEY PRISON Bulk services started and completed as scheduled. Main contract has been recommended by the Adjudication Committee at R499 million.

  18. THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW GENERATION PRISONS Department of Correctional Services NIGEL PRISON Bulk Services have delayed by two (2) weeks but the contractor is working towards meeting the original completion date. Tenders for the main contract have closed and are ready for adjudication.

  19. THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW GENERATION PRISONS Department of Correctional Services LEEUWKOP PRISON Bulk Services have been delayed by the environmental objections by the local community, to be completed four (4) weeks behind schedule. Tenders for the Main contract have yet to be invited.

  20. THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW GENERATION PRISONS Department of Correctional Services KLERKSDORP PRISON The contract went on tender without being split into phases and closed in December 2004. No responsive tender was found. Tenders will be invited again by DPW, scheduled for July 2005.
