Nubia and Egypt Ore- A mineral or a combination of minerals mined for the production of metals.
Nubia and Egypt Lower Nubia- The region of ancient Nubia between the First and Second Nile & cataracts.
Nubia and Egypt Upper Nubia- The region of ancient Nubia between the Second and Sixth Nile cataracts.
The Kerma Culture Egypt grew weak, the Kushites took control.Kerma was rich from its trading with central Africa.They made beautiful pottery.
Napata and Meroë From their city Napata (nuh PAY tuh), the Kushites moved back into Egypt.The pharaohs of Egypt’s 25th Dynasty were Nubians. Their rule did not last very long.
Napata and Meroë They never again controlled Egyptian land.The kingdom of Napata was known forbuilding pyramids in which to bury their kings
Napata and Meroë Meroë became the center of an empire that included much of Nubia and central Africa.Meroë’s desert had large deposits of iron ore. The Nubians used the ore to make iron weapons and tools. Iron plows allowed them to grow large supplies of food. Iron weapons allowed them to control trade routes. Meroë became rich from trade.
