14. Daily Life Rules • Punctuality is a must for class attendance. • timetable: • get up 6:30 • class or library: 8:00——12:00 • noon break: 12:30-2:00（no noisy, no music) • Afternoon class: 2:30——5:40 • Evening class:7:30——9:30 • Go to bed(11:00 p.m.) (no noisy during nighttime)

15. Return to your dormitory for spending the night is a must. • If you fail to do as planned, do not disturb others. • If you been complained by others 3 times(diffrent person）, you can't living on campus anymore. • If you wish to go out of campus, obtain prior permission. • When having classes, no leave will be granted unless some genuine causes. • You can ask for leave or absence from class in case of ill health ( prior permission with paper certificate)

16. Whatever the case maybe, you are not allowed to let others stay in your dormitory for the night.

17. Admission and Registration • if you fail to make the registration on time, you have to send a letter or telephone call the management with proper explanation. If you are late for the school attendance for over weeks, you will be disqualified. • If you are holding X Visa, you must apply for your Residence Permit within 30 days after your arrival in China

18. Timely admission, registration and payment. • must appear for examinations for all the courses. • maximum of 100 marks with 60 marks as the minimum for pass. • if you failed first time, you have to appear for the retest. Those who fail again in the retest can have another chance for retest before graduation. • Pass in all the examinations of all the subjects(including Chinese) before you graduate is mandatory. • Finish 1-year internship is a must. • For internship in China qualification, you must pass HSK-4 in advance.

19. During whole course of your study in the University, you are allowed to repeat the course for once only; and it is not permitted in your last academic year.

20. Suspension of Schooling • n the following cases, the International Students will be suspended of their schooling: • ①After a diagnosis by the University hospital, the student takes a suspension of his schooling for over 6 weeks to recover; • ②The absence from all classes on sick leave or business leave exceeds one third of the total class hours of a semester; • ③Any other reasons that suspension deems fit by the departments concerned.

21. Leaving the University • The International Students are allowed to leave the University at any time and their tuition and other fees will be refunded according to the rules and regulations of the University. • Before leaving the University, you should pay off all the dues.

22. Awards and Punishments. • The University will award scholarships to the merit students who do excel in their studies. Regarding the nature and severity of the mistakes committed by the students, we criticize, educate or enforce discipline measures against their violation of the University disciplines. The five measures for enforcing discipline are (1)warning; (2)serious warning; (3)record of demerit; (4)probation within the University;(5)expulsion from the University.

23. Management of Religions • Every student is free to follow his own religious principles. The University respects all the religions of the International Students, but will not provide any places for religious activities. In the University, no religious preaching or rallies are allowed. And everyone is forbidden to force others to follow after religious beliefs or change their religious beliefs.

24. Awards & Punishment • Anyone who violates these rules in the following cases with less harm will be punished less severely: • When you admit your fault on initiative by telling the truth, by deep examination and by good performance. • When you are threatened or beguiled by others, but can expopse and denounce the other misconductors on initiative and with good attitude towards the misconduct.

25. Anyone who violates these rules in the following cases will be punished severely: • When you conceal, distort and fabricate facts or hinders investigation or refusese to admit your misconduct. • When you threaten and retaliate against the persons concerned. • When you misconduct for a second time in bad attitude.

26. When you are to be pulished for a third time with probation within the University after being given a discipline measure of warning for twice. • When you have committed two or more misconducts. • When you violate the rules in conspiracy with the outsiders.

27. The following actions will be taken against those who have been punished: • To cancel the eligibility of your application for scholarship of the academic year proper. • To confer college degree according to the relevant provisions of “Rules on Southern Medical University Bachelor Degree Conferment

28. There are five measures of punishment to be taken for international students: • 1)Warning, • 2) Severe warning, • 3) Recording of the demerit, • 4) Probation within the University • 5) Expellsion from the University.

29. Expelled • International Students are to be expelled from the University in the following cases: • When opposing Chinese government by being destructive to security, peace, unity and order of the society. • When committing crimes by deliberate violation of Chinese laws; • When being punished for severely breaching the laws of security regulations; • When rallying the others to conduct ragging and insult against the classmates by collecting protection fees in any ways;

30. When substituting others to take exams, or to take exams for others; organizing cheating; using communication equipment to cheat in exams and other cheating behaviors in severe manners; • When plagiarizing others’ research achievements in severe manners; • When violating the University rules by causing severe demage to the order of teaching, living and administration of public systems and by encroaching on the personal or institutional interests with serious consequences; • When having been punished for repeated violation of the University rules, but still insisting on misconducts.

31. The measure of probation within the University or a more severe punishment is to be taken against those who are to be punished by the judiciary department for their violation of China’s laws and regulations.

32. You will be punished as follows when you counterfeit, attain, use or transfer certificates or documents of any kind： • A disciplinary measure of demerit recording will be given if you counterfeit other person’s seal or illegally make seals of public use, or steal seals of public use, or steal confidential documents and archives, etc. If any damages or consequences have thus caused, you will be given the punishment of probation within the University or a more severe one is to be executed.

33. A disciplinary measure of warning or above depending on the severity of the case will be given when you borrow or transfer any certifiactes and thus cause consequences.

34. You will be punished as follows when you act immorally and behave against the ethics: • A disciplinary measure of serious warning will be given when you flirt and insult the opposite sex in less severity . • A disciplinary measure of demerit recording will be given when you flirt, insult or do some other things against the opposite sex in severity . • A disciplinary measure of probation within the University or above depending on the severity of the case will be given when you illegally cohabitate or stay with or keep the opposite sex in your dorm for the night.

35. A disciplinary measure of expulsion will be executed when you get married without the permission from the University, causing a bad consequence.

36. You will be punished when you illegally encroache on public property and personal belongings or personal freedom by any means. Besides that you are to make a full compensation and you are to be penalizded a fine by public security, you are to be punished as follows depending on the severity of the case:

37. A disciplinary measure of serious warning or above depending on the severity of the case will be given when you steal public property and personal belongings; A disciplinary measure of serious warning or demerit recording will be given when your theft is valued less than 400 yuan; A disciplinary measure of demerit recording will be given when your theft is valued 400 yuan or more but less than 1000 yuan or 1000 yuan proper; A disciplinary measure of probation within the University will be given when your theft is valued more than 1000 yuan. If more than 2000 yuan, you will be expelled directly.

38. You will be punished as follows when you mastermind, organize and incite disorder by disturbing the normal teaching and learning order, the public order and the social order, and by destroying peace and unity. • A disciplinary measure of demerit recording or probation within the University will be given when you commit such a serious case, yet after education, you are holding a good attitude and are able to be well behaved. • You are to be expelled when you have committed such a serious case but after education, still refuse to be well adjusted.

39. You will be punished when you violate the regulations in the following cases: • You will be regarded as absentee of classes when you leave the University on your own without asking for leave or do not return on schedule for registration. • A disciplinary measure of warning or above will be given when you smoke in public places such as classroom, lab, library and administrative building and refuse to follow the non-smoking advice. • A disciplinary measure of serious warning or above will be given when you excessively drink in public places such as restaurant, canteen and dormitory by disturbing the public order.

40. A disciplinary measure of probation within the University or expulsion will be given when you make trouble against the workers or leaders by threatening and retaliation because of your graduation and employment etc. • A disciplinary measure of warning will be given when you break into the University or dorm without registration for late return by climbing into the campus or dorm; but a serious warning or above will be given when you are holding a bad attitude.

41. A disciplinary measure of warning or above depending on the severity of the case will be given when you are engaged in illegal business and sales. And all the merchandise will be confisticated.

42. A disciplinary measure of warning will be given when you must not raise pets in your dorm, but after education, you still insists on pet-raising. • A disciplinary measure of warning or above will be given when you play high volume music or make big noise in your dorm during the time of class, self-study, napping and sleeping. And after education, you still insist on such misconduct which disturbs others. • A disciplinary measure of warning or above depending on the severity of the case will be given when you create a disturbance, make wilful disposal of bottles or other things in the dorm area. For those who are going to graduate, a more severe punishment is to be executed.

43. Depending on the severity of the case, a disciplinary measure of warning or criticism and education will be given when you violatate the timetable. Without asking for permission, you are not allowed to stay out of your dorm for the night. And no guests are allowed in your dorm. A disciplinary measure of warning will be given when you still do not obey this rule even after education. • A disciplinary measure of warning or above will be given when you disturb the dorm order, causing a bad influence on normal life and learning of the others and when you still follow your way of disturbance.

44. A disciplinary measure of serious warning or above will be given when you store or use flammable, explosive, and virulent products in dormitory; and when you make your own private rearrangement of the electricity system or setup and even after education, you still insist on this misconduct. If any fire accident is thus caused, and bad consequences thus incurred, you will be expelled from the University and be handed over to the public security for further treatment.

45. When you damage public property or personal belongings, you are to be punished as follows according to the severity of the case: • A disciplinary measure of warning will be given when you damage something valued less than 400 yuan; A disciplinary measure of serious warning will be given when you damage something valued 400 yuan or more but less than 1000 yuan or 1000 yuan proper; A disciplinary measure of demerit recording will be given when you damage something valued more than 1000 yuan.

46. A disciplinary measure of warning will be given when you spit, pour water and throw litters down from upstairs, and pour litters into toilets and wash-basins. • A disciplinary measure of warning will be given when you play audio equipments with loudspeakers or hold parties by disturbing others in their study or rest and when you do not follow the persuasion.

47. When your absent hours from class without any excuses accumulate to the following numbers, you will be punished accordingly: (Unapproved leave is taken as 8 hours of absence per day except the holidays. But when holidays or two-day weekends are the time for registration of a new semester and for opening of a new semester, they should be regarded as normal school days; The time for collective activities is calculated as the lecture hours, and those who are absent without any excuses from a roll call for the whole class are to be regarded as absence of 10 lecture hours.)

48. A disciplinary measure of warning will be given when you are absent for 10 lecture hours. • A disciplinary measure of serious warning will be given when you are absent for 20 lecture hours. • A disciplinary measure of demerit recording will be given when you are absent for 35 lecture hours. • A disciplinary measure of probation within the University will be given when you are absent for 40 lecture hours. • Disqualification from the University will be executed when you are absent for 50 lecture hours.

49. When you graduate from the University, and while leaving, you violate the rules and will thus be punished as follows: • When you damage public property and violates the University discipline, you will be asked to pay for the damage and depending on the severity of the case, a disciplinary measure of serious warning or above will be given; Expulsion follows as the case is extremely severe.

50. When you steal, boisterously rob, or cheat at the public property, you will have to return the property or to pay for the loss and will be punished as follows: • A disciplinary measure of warning is given when the value of the property is less than 50 yuan • A disciplinary measure of serious warning is given when the value of the property is more than 50 yuan but less than 200 yuan • A disciplinary measure of probation within the University is given when the value of the property is more than 200 yuan • You will be expelled from the University when you commit this misconduct for 3 times or more.
