  2. Definition of Learning Outcomes outline what a student can expect out of his/her major by outlining overall mission and goal of departments on campus

Purpose of Learning Outcomes Outline department goals Outline what a student can expect out of his/her major Outlines student expectations (i.e.- what it takes to succeed in that department) Holds departments accountable at an institutional level Holds the university accountable at a national level in SACS accreditation Serves as guiding principles in formation of departmental curriculum

  4. Senate’s Recommendations Publish learning outcomes on departmental websites and in one central location for students Increase student involvement in the formation and reevaluation of learning outcomes

  5. Plan for Action Plan for student involvement through a proposal. Meeting up with each individual department chair to determine the feasibility of publishing learning outcomes and the process for increasing student involvement in the process. Identify a host for the university-wide learning outcomes webpage.
