LSS: Triplet Insertion Concept 7 cell “DOFO”: Extraction Hminus Dump Fast Inj MTEBK MS2 MS1 ES ExtK MTEBK BD DuK InjK InjS 90 o Triplet 6 cell “FODO”: MTEBK MS2 MS1 ES ExtK MTEBK BD DuK InjK InjS Focusing Quad between LSS and ARC allows to reduce the LSS by one cell, i.e. ~ 20m Triplet PS2 NMC Lattices
LSS Optics 10 m 22 m LSS length: 145 m Drifts in triplet provide space for Hminus elements and extraction kickers Next: Beam waste in the triplet center has to be shifted to a beta minimum of 22.5 m PS2 NMC Lattices

Low γtNMC • Lower γt (this example 25i) allows easier high energy gymnastics • Similar NMC module with one dipole in the center • Shorter quadrupoles necessitate higher quadrupole gradients (but always below 14 T/m) • Shorter cell (70m) allowing 6NMC modules per arc • Space constraints as for the high γt version • Matching to the straight section should be similar PS2 NMC Lattices
Conclusions • Triplet LSS well matched with zero dispersion • Two NMC modules: • 2 dipoles in the center: gt= 39i, Dmax= -3.55 to + 3.33 m • 1 dipole in the center: gt= 25i, Dmax= -2.2 to + 2.1 m • Enough drift room for the pick-ups, orbit and sextupole corrections. • Natural chromaticities: xx=-19, and xy=-12 • Two sextupole families with small field • Chromaticity correction: second order tune shift induced by sextupoles is very small.
