TMB firmware to try out this week Version used at CERN: 11 Oct. 2007. New version = 1 May 2008 • At 904, have checked that “basic” things work • Can be loaded with CERN software • TMB “self-check” stuff works (some things needed to be fixed…) • Changes still needed for CERN software: • TMB Counters (have example code for counter readout) • Many VME registers have updated bits… need to update decoding and printout • New features new xml parameters • clct_flush_delay • clct_write_continuous_enable • RPC readout timing fifo parameters (as for clct) • ALCT and CLCT bx0 delays • adjacent_cfeb_distance • CLCT throttle • change default of “clct_blanking” to 1. To set to 0, it requires alct-only or l1a-notmb mode enabled… (need to make software smart to not allow this…) • To be done in conjunction with a DMB firmware update… G. Rakness (UCLA)
“Team A” for minus side: talk to stuff Thursday 8 May: Cooling + Low Voltage available • VCC (crate controllers) firmware updated on ALL peripheral crates to version 4.31. To make this happen… • Fiber module swaps • TMB replacement: • VME2/4, slot 20 (3872) • DMB replacement: • VME3/3, slot 21 (3873) • VCC replacements: • VME2/3 • VME2/6 • VME3/3 • VME4/1 G. Rakness (UCLA)
“Team A”: Download firmware Focus has been on ME2, ME3, and ME4. Shift to ME1 tomorrow, since this is where we have gas and hard to access chambers/collaborators • “Team A” stuff (continued)… • Download TMB, ALCT, and RAT firmware (3881) • TMB broadcast within crate • ALCT serially with internal database check • No connection to ALCT ME3/1/18 (3896) • RAT broadcast firmware • RAT replacement: VME4/4 slot 4 • CFEB broadcast firmware software bug fixed (3899) • CFEB firmware broadcast to ME2, 3, and 4 (3907) • loose cables found and fixed… efficacy of fixes to be established… (3908) G. Rakness (UCLA)
“Team A”: Next • To be done for minus side: • Change focus to ME1 • Load MPC and CCB firmware • Find communication phases • Gas, HV and Sector Processor working, then find L1As and DAVs G. Rakness (UCLA)
