Why Imperialism Grew • Imperialism is a policy by a stronger nation to create an empire by dominating weaker nations economically, politically, culturally, or militarily. • 1- Economic factors – natural resources and markets • 2- Nationalist factors – devotion to one’s nation • 3- Military factors – bases • 4- Humanitarian factors – law, medicine, and religion
