  3. Something unique about … • The bird has just two toes on each foot most birds have four, with the nail of the larger, inner one like a hoof. • The Ostrich is the largest living spices of bird and lays the largest egg of any bird species. • Ostrich are large enough for a small person to ride them, normally while holding on to the wings for grab.

  4. Ancestors of the …. • The ostrich belongs to the group of large, flightless birds known as ratites. • Ratities are long time ago animals that could not fly and they had sumthing distincte in there

  5. Habitat the ostrich lives in… • It lives in groups which contain between five and 50 birds. • When in danger, the Ostrich will either hide itself by lying flat against the ground, or will run away.

  6. Food Chain • Ostrich eat seeds and other plants, though it eats insects. • Ostrich don’t get eaten but they are farmed because of there leather and sometimes for meat, other things they are used for are there eggs and feathers.

  7. How humans impact the animal

  8. Ostrich Racing • Ostriches are large enough for a small person to ride them • Typically while holding on to the wings for grip, and in some areas of northern Africa and the Arabian Peninsula Ostriches are trained as racing mounts.

  9. Ostrich feather dusters • The original South African ostrich feather dusters were invented in Johannesburg, South Africa by Harry S. Beckner in 1903. • Today the largest manufacturer of Ostrich feather dusters is Texas Feathers which is in Arlington Texas • Because the feather does not zipper together it is flat to increasing a static charge which actually attract and holds dust which can then be shaken out or washed off.

  10. What I think ??? • Well actually ostriches are stupid because there about to die and they hide there head under a hole. • I saw an ostrich in the zoo. • They look dirty to me. • They look dirty because that there type of habitat !
