Fall 2003 Transfer Admission Over 9,000 transfer applications were received for approximately 3,513 spaces SDSU did not accept applications from lower-division transfers 64.5% of upper-division transfer applicants were admitted 56.6% of those upper-division transfers admitted were from outside of SDSU’s service area Data as of 7/11/03
Fall 2004 Upper-Division Transfer Requirements Beginning fall 2004, transfer applicants will be admitted to a major or premajor. Transfer applicants must: • Complete 60 or more transferable semester units (90 quarter units) by the end of spring 2004. • Complete all lower-division General Education by the end of spring 2004. This requirement can be met by GE certification, IGETC, or completion of one of the GE patterns listed in the SDSU catalog. • General Education requirements in written communication, oral communication, critical thinking and mathematics must be completed with a “C” or better in each course.
Fall 2004 Upper-Division Transfer Requirements (cont.) • By the end of spring 2004, complete all preparation for the major courses that have been articulated and offered at the community college(s) attended* in the year prior to transfer. • If the preparation for major courses in combination with the 39 units of GE exceed 60 units, students are only required to complete 24 preparation for the major courses.
Fall 2004 Upper-Division Transfer Requirements (cont.) • Applicants must meet the required GPA at the time of application, and they must maintain the GPA through the end of spring 2004. • All applicants must meet the GPA required for the impacted major. Non-impacted majors require a 2.0. • In addition to the requirements listed above, applicants outside of SDSU’s service area will be subject to a ranking based on GPA that may be higher than the impacted major GPA. • Visit www.sdsu.edu/impactedmajors
Special Admission Notes • There are additional ranking criteria for Nursing applicants. • Music major applicants must audition for acceptance to the major. • Transfer students who are admitted to a major or premajor must petition if they decide to request a change of major after enrollment at SDSU. • SDSU is not accepting applications for second bachelor’s candidates, with the exception of Nursing.
Fall Application Process Application filing period: October 1 - November 30 All required course work must be completed by end of the spring term. Transfer admission decisions are made based on transcripts sent at time of admission. Students must submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended as soon as possible, but no later than 3 weeks from the date of application. Admission status will be verified using final official transcripts. If SDSU criteria for admission are not met after the final review of transcripts, the offer of admission will be rescinded.
Online Application The preferred method of application is through www.csumentor.edu If students cannot apply online, they should contact the Office of Admissions to make special arrangements to apply electronically with campus assistance. Fall Enrollment Procedures • Submit Intent to Enroll form and $100 deposit by May 1. • Submit official transcripts with spring grades by June 30.

Housing Application Procedures 1. Apply for License Agreement online or call for information. 2. Students will receive the License Agreement in Mid-May. 3. Returning the Agreement secures the student's spot . Assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Students choose from several meal and payment plans, as well as special interest areas, such as the Living/Learning Center and International House.
