  2. Coal’s Helpful Side. • There is more coal available underground in our country than there is natural gas. • No processing/refining required, good to use after mining. • Coal energy output is very high, over twice the output that wood gives.

  3. More Coal Mining, more jobs, More money. • More coal mines means more jobs. • Mining coal will reduce our dependency on fuels that come from other countries, thus saving money. • “The cost to our economy far outweighs the long-term benefits of starving our industries of reliable, affordable energy, and forces manufacturing overseas.” William Borch Jr.

  4. Making Coal Environmentally Safe • Although coal mining can be hazardous, modern technology allows for safer and environmentally better mining. • Harmful gasses released by coal mining, such as Methane, can be in turn harvested as well for our profit. • Coal mining is Temporary, and the land being mined will be restored.

  5. It’s there, we just gotta dig it! • Coal is there, and it’s plentiful. • To ignore the coal resources under the earth would mean to take out an energy source that would save us billions. • Coal has positive aspects that greatly override the negative ones.
