  2. God Protects marriage.God made male and female. God created marriage as a blessing to people. Ephesians 4:17 - 5:21

  3. Definitions: Fornication: sexual relations between unmarried people. (Pre-marital sex and adultery is included). Adultery: sexual relations with someone besides one’s spouse. Homosexuality: Sexual relations with one of the same sex (Romans 1:24-27). Pornography: writings, pictures, and other things intended to arouse sexual desire. (sexting is included). Divorce: A legal seperation between married people.

  4. Two situations in which God allows divorce: Matthew 19:9 • Marital unfaithfulness • Abandonment I Corinthians 7:15

  5. Some things to think about…

  6. God protects: Our property Psalm 24:1 God owns everything I own and all things.

  7. God wants us to use our money and possessions… I Timothy 5:8 • To provide for our family. • To help those in need. • to thank and praise God by offering the best of our blessings from him for the work of sharing the Gospel. I John 3:16-18 2 Corinthians 9:6-8

  8. A Christian will NOT want… I Timothy 6:6-10 • To be greedy • to be dishonest (including robbery, theft, cheating, fraud). I Corinthians 6:8-10

  9. God protects: our name and reputation. Sins against this commandment include: Gossip, lies, slander, libel and maliciously betraying a confidence. 1 Peter 3:8-10

  10. What will a Christian want to do instead? Defend each other’s good name, speak well of others and view their actions in the best possible way.

  11. God protects: us from sinning Coveting leads to all other types of sin.
