It has been said that we learn: • 10% of what we read • 20% of what we hear • 30% of what we see • 50% of what we see and hear • 70% of what is discussed with others • 80% of what we experience personally, and • 95% of what we teach to someone else (Ekwall & Shanker, 1988)

Reflections: Knowing the Learner • Why was it important for you to assess your own MIs and LSs? • How will you use the information on MIs and LSs with students? • What steps must be initiated in order for this to happen? • Who will be responsible for initiating and sustaining these steps? • What resources will you need to make these practices happen? • What is a realistic timeline for implementation of these practices? • What will you use to assess/evaluate the effectiveness of these strategies?
