Shower Speaker Review Shower Speaker Review Shower Speaker is a small speaker that can be used in the bathroom to play music, radio, podcasts or even make phone calls. They are usually waterproof and can be a great alternative to using your smartphone in the shower (which can lead to water or dirt inside the phone and eventually damaging it). Shower speakers typically have Bluetooth connectivity, a built-in mic and a detachable suction cup for attachment to a bathroom wall or mirror. They are also very affordable and can be a good choice for anyone who wants to listen to music in the bathroom without having their phone with them. A good Shower Speaker should have a waterproof rating of IPX4 or higher and be able to withstand exposure to soapy water, though it is recommended that you use a towel to wipe the speaker down after every use. Having a good battery life is also important. The best Shower Speaker should be able to play at least 10 hours of music at medium volume. One of the cheapest Shower Speaker on the market is the Shower-mate from iJoy. It has a nice and durable design and is made of plastic with a rubber covering. It features a circular control pad with 5 buttons - power on/off button with an LED indicator underneath it, play/pause button, 2 volume/track management buttons and a call button with a built-in mic. Bluetooth connection is solid, the advertised 50ft range is a bit short but it's still decent. It's very easy to pair the Shower-mate with your device and it will automatically connect to the last paired device when you turn it on. It has a built-in microphone that can be used to answer calls but we've found that the quality is not very good. The built-in speaker is pretty tiny and can't deliver much bass - it is only suitable for light listening in the shower. This speaker comes in a small box and includes the Shower-mate, a USB to micro USB charging cable, a detachable suction cup and an aluminum carabiner. There's also a user manual and 1- year warranty included. Another cheap Shower Speaker is the BassPal iF012. It's an exact copy of the iJoy shower speaker and you can find it under different names on the market - BESUNTEK, Auto Tech, AYOGU etc. It has a nice rugged and waterproof design with some rubber reinforcements but the actual sound is kind of tiny and not very satisfying for its price. The iF012 is compatible with Siri and the voice activation works quite well but it doesn't work all the time - like most other Shower Speakers with this feature. Its suction cup is not the strongest on the market but it's still better than some of the cheaper ones we've seen. It can stick to a wall or mirror and it's very easy to attach and remove. It's also relatively compact so it won't take up too much space on your bathroom counter.
