  1. Bell-work 1/23/14 Looking at the chart on page 291 answer: How did the parties differ on federal power? What party were anglophiles? Which was pro-French? How did each party interpret the Constitution Who led each party and why? EQ: What occurred under Adam’s presidency? TSWBAT evaluate Adam’s administration

Objective and Scale: • The student will be able to evaluate the presidency of John Adams including the Alien and Sedition Acts and the Jay Treaty with 80% accuracy • Where does today’s objective fit into the NEW REPUBLIC learning goal scale? • What do you need to be able to do with this objective to achieve mastery?

  3. Tree Map and Informational Read • We: Read 298-301 • We: Construct a tree map • You should have 4 branches: Conflict w/France, XYZ Affair and War Fever, Alien and Sedition Acts, and State’s rights • You: Summarize the major issues of Adam’s presidency

  4. Summary and Progress Chart • On the back of your map summarize: • What issues occurred during John Adam’s presidency and how did he handle them. • Complete progress chart for objective G and H • Are you close to scaling Everest? What more can you do?
