Definition (cont’d) Governance • Effective governance addresses 3 questions: • What decisions must be made to ensure effectiveness? • Who should make these decisions? • How will these decisions be made and monitored? • The combination of processes, practices and structures implemented by the board in order to inform, direct, manage and monitor the activities of the organization toward the achievement of its goals
