The girlsAmy Goldman KossYear 2000Fiction Kielynn C. Period,5
Setting The setting was at Mayas house or Candace's house. It was the day of Candace's party and I wasn’t invited to it. Maya didn’t know that the other girls didn’t like her anyways .She had to find out the had way by calling but no answer so she tried to for get. The thing was it was on a Saturday and my mom said yes before she un invited me.
Conflict • I would think it is man vs. man because they always talk about each other. Mostly Candace ,while Maya gets her feelings hurt by listening to Candace talk trash to Maya. Maya wants to say things back but she wants to be the better person. so she lets Candace say hurtful things back to her.
Summary of Plot • Maya and Candace have been friends for years ,but this year Candace is tired of being Mayas friend.maya was the leader of the girls but Candace took Mayas spot and is not being very nice about it. she is nothing like Maya because she treats her friends like slaves.(Candace)
Theme • Maya gets tired of Candace taking over things so Maya does something about it. • Candace steals her spot of being the leader. • Candace is scared that Maya is going to take the spot again.
Point of View • The point of view is that these two girls start to hate each other and one takes the other ones place. If the author would of changed it then we would never know that Maya and Candace hated each other.
Symbolism • I think the symbol would be anger, because Maya and Candace showed anger toward each other the whole book. I think they will not be friends in the future or maybe ever.
Recommendation • It is worth reading because it leaves you hanging in each chapter and you wont want to stop read in.
