Introduction • Media, despite its area of focus, may have strong influence on a group of people that decide to commit to watching it. • Prospective college freshmen expose themselves to college culture films and television and which portray a false, idealized image of college, that are then reinforced by user generated photos and articles which lead to a false belief of college. This may cause them to drop out or kicked out.

Total: 27.5 hours Coding:Malegroups such as athletic teams and fraternities , roles of women, academic and professor portrayals, hyper masculine super seniors, promotions of filthy hygiene and animalistic belligerence and the decided view of social success
Survey • 20 freshmen • Was College what you thought it was going to be like? Why or why not? • Did film or TV influence any preconceived notations about college life? • Are you satisfied with this semester? Will you continue next semester? • Conflicting responses
Conclusion • There is a connection as scholarship proves • Websites and TV played the largest role in influence • The TV shows Impacted females more than males • Learned a lot
Further research • Future of College culture media, will it stay true to its roots such as BMS or be dramatized like Greek? • Detrimental effects rather than just dropping out
