What is the difference between all the trees? Trees Shrubs Herbs
How do you think is water transported in plants? • Hollow tubes known as Xylem vessels help to carry water through the plant stem • Cells called as Phloem help to transport the food prepared in leaves to rest of the parts of the plant What are Xylem and Phloem?
Xylem and Phloem How do they work?
Xylem Phloem T.S. of a Leaf Water Food
Transpiration • Transpiration is a continuous process caused by the evaporation of water from leaves of plants. • Transpiration cools plants down and enables mass flow of minerals to where it is needed in the plant. • It takes place through the xylem vessels and the water vapors are released through the stomata.
Translocation • Translocation is the transport of all dissolved material within a plant or the conduction of soluble food material from one part of a plant to the other. • The process is mainly done by phloem during photosynthesis.
