In order to restore the critical railroad Northeast Corridor, AMTRAK needed de-watering in the flooded tunnels under the Hudson and East Rivers. Working with the US Army Corps of Engineers, heavy duty de-watering pumps and trained teams were brought in to expedite the critical rail service into and out of NYC. Regulatory Relief • Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration “One-Stop Shop” • Hours of Service – USDOT regulated • Oversize/Overweight – State regulated • Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration • 24 hour availability to issue Emergency Special Permits for transport of hazardous material • Federal Railroad Administration • Emergency Relief Docket
