A combination of schools that opens doors to all types of further education. • Cambium College an organization that actually consists of two seperate schools. • De Waard a school which prepares students for further vocational education. • Buys Ballot a school which prepares students for education either at polytechnic level or college level.

  3. Buys Ballot 3 types of education Type 1 Secondary modern level (students up to 16 years of age). Provides entry to intermediate level of vocational eduction.

  4. Buys Ballot • Type 2 • General High school level (5 year course students up to 17 years of age). • Provides entry to higher vocational education.

  5. Buys Ballot • Type 3 • Grammar school • 6 year course (students up to 18 years of age) • Provides entry to university level of education

  6. The only school in the region • Cambium College is the only secondary school in Zaltbommel and the surrounding villages. • Consequently, half the school’s population comes from small villages in a rural area. • Many pupils have to ride their bikes for up to 45 minutes in order to go to school, as the film will show you.

  7. Special courses • Children can enroll in special classes such as: • sports class • art class • plus class (for gifted children with a special talent for learning) • technasium (classes that specialize in design and development)

  8. The exchange • Cambium has been involved in foreign exchange programmes for more than a decade. • Students involved: grammar school 4th grade (age 15 to 16) • So far, exchanged with schools in: Denmark, Norway, Romania, Italy, Hungary, Czech Republic, Spain, Greece.

  9. Zaltbommel • Small town in the middle of the country on the southern bank of the river Waal (a part of the Rhine river system which flows from the German border all the way to Rotterdam). • A town that dates from the Middle Ages, and which was closely connected to the salt trade.
