What I Have Learned • Social Bookmarking • Del.icio.us • Web 2.0 vs. Web 1.0 • Podcasting • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcasting • http://www.podcast.net/ • Search Engines (and how to use them) • Collaboration • Data Sets and Online Tools • Webbits and WIPs • NETS standards
Applying What I Learned • Integrating technology in my classroom • Make it fun; Make it real • Using what children like in order to foster learning • So many various uses: • Journaling Blogging • Webbits, WebQuests, WIPs • Allowing students to become pioneers of their learning, joint teacher/student responsibility
Some of My Favs • http://www.adflip.com/ • http://ww2010.atmos.uiuc.edu/(Gh)/wx/home.rxml • http://www.xe.com/ucc/ • http://mathforum.org/workshops/usi/dataproject/index.html • http://webquest.org/index.php • http://www.hazelwood.k12.mo.us/~cdavis01/webbits/
Recommendations • Sometime assignments are unclear, need more specific directions • Limited ways of contacting classmates (time restrictions- when I can meet and when they can meet)
Reflecting • This is a wonderful course. There are some many positive aspects. Here are just a few: • This is a great class for: • Anyone interested in learning • Anyone currently teaching • Anyone going into teaching • Anyone with an investment in a child and their future • I love that I can be (almost) anywhere and still in class
Reflecting • Sharing of ideas • Collaboration • Knowledge gained can be USED in the future and right now • Working with new people in a different way • Projects can be completed at your own pace • Chats, Blogging, Wikis and Web Pages • You chose what you learn
