What is a choir council? • A choir council is a group of choir students from all classes. The council is in charge of organizing “Big Events.” Big events are concerts, recruiting, school sponsored activities and anything else to do with the entire PJHS choir program.
President • 2nd year in PJHS choir program • Great attitude & dependable • Can pass a grade check and has no behavior issues. • Leader: positive, knows when to listen. Can think of ideas with a plan. Great at showing people what comes next.
Vice President • 2nd year in PJHS choir program • Great attitude & dependable • Can pass a grade check and has no behavior issues. • Is the President's right hand. Good with working with others and getting the job done!
Secretary & Treasurer • Able to pass a grade check, no behavior issues • Can be 1st or 2nd year in choir program • Organized • Responsible • Trustworthy
Activities • Able to pass a grade check • 1st or 2nd year in choir • Works well with others • Lots of energy, good ideas, is an ACTION person (gets the party started!) • Great Attitude, accepts all people!!
Pd 1-4 Representatives • Pass the grade check • 1st or 2nd year in choir • Comes to all council meetings. Takes notes to bring back to their classes. • Gives suggestions and lends a helping hand in planning big events. Great at helping and getting others to help.
Who should run for choir council? • Students who believe choir is one of their top priorities. • Willing to come to meetings 1-2x per month either before or after school. • Keeps A/B average in all classes • Has time to dedicate to planning events. Is early to all events to set up and stays late to take down.
How do I run for Choir Council? • Students will need to email Mrs. Umbrianna no later than Friday night 11:59pm. • Students will write a 1 paragraph essay about why you feel you should be considered to run for council. Please include your leadership background and any special skills you may have. • Students will list all activities and outside school events you have obligations too. (sports, theatre, dance, church etc..) • You will list your top 2 choices for what position best fits your qualifications. • Monday and Tuesday in class students will vote their top choices. Not all students who sent the email will be on the ballot, some may not have the skills or requirements necessary to be on council this year.
