Funding Apprenticeships The government provides funding to organisations to help cover training costs, making higher and degree apprenticeships a cost-effective way to bring new knowledge and ideas into your organisation. We have recently secured funding to help SMEs in East Midlands recruit an apprentice, which means 90% of the training costs are paid for. If your organisation is based in the UK and has an annual wage bill of over £3m, you should be paying the monthly Apprenticeship Levy via the PAYE system. You can use these funds to pay for apprentices’ training costs.
Apprenticeships at NTU Also in development for 2019 At NTU we were an early adopter of Higher and Degree Apprenticeships, commencing delivery of our first apprenticeship in 2012. We currently deliver a range of Apprenticeships from Level 3 to Level 7 Our apprenticeship programmes are designed and delivered with continuous employer consultation and we have developed specific and robust internal approval processes to ensure the quality of our apprenticeships. 2018 Offer

Apprenticeships at NTU An apprenticeship must last at least 12 months, and you will need to allow apprentices 20% of their working hours for off-the-job training. An apprentice’s off the job training will include a range of different activities, not just traditional classroom teaching. We recognise the need to balance an apprentice’s off the job training with their on the job training in the workplace. Therefore, all of our apprenticeships are offered in a range of flexible delivery modes, including block and day release. Block release patterns vary between courses but typically an apprentice may be required to attend 2-3 days of taught blocks at NTU every six weeks.
