What you will study Very ”clinical” – almost all modules in NUH No IS modules FYP module All classes finish by 5 – CCA participation
Features Exclusive joint programme with the National University Hospital (NUH)Only course of its kind with two years of intensive, on-the-job training at NUH, Tan TockSeng Hospital and the National Healthcare Group (NHG) polyclinics. All other similar polytechnic courses – taught at the poly not in the hospital except for attachment. Graduate with additional qualifications and skills - Certificate in Phlebotomy (blood collection) and competence in performing electrocardiogram (ECG) tests. Good training to take international professional examinations – American Society for Clinical Pathology examinations for medical laboratory technologists. Good qualification if e.g. working overseas.
Further qualifications/studies BLT graduates can enrol in a wide range of degree programmes offered by National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University.
Conditions for BMS students Must have passed all 1st year modules by April 2011 Must come for interview Must not be severely colour blind (check with us if not sure) Conditions for MBIO students Same as above but in addition …. O level aggregate must be same or below that of BMS students Priority will be given to BMS students (30 places)
Visit to NUH • Wednesday 22December, 12:30 – 1:30 pm • Meet at the lobby, main building, near 7-11 (not Kent Ridge Wing but the old building, after the emergency entrance) • The coordinator, Ms OngSiew Kim, and the 3rd year students will show you around and answer your questions • Note: this visit is just to show you what course is about. You are not obliged to apply if you go. Nor is the visit compulsory for applicants. • If interested, please respond to e-mail sent out to your school mails.
