  2. Baby Life • A sow (mother pig) can give up to 12 piglets at a time • A piglet can weigh 1.5 pounds and double its weight in 7 days! • Piglets have 28 teeth, but they fall out when they are around 12 months old. The teeth come back, but they are replaced by 44 teeth that are very strong

  3. Growing Up • Female Adults: Sows • Male Adults: Boar • Baby: Piglets • Lives for 9 to 15 years • Can run a 7 minute mile • They eat tree leaves, grasses, ferns, roots, fruits, and flowers. They also eat dead insects, worms, and tree bark.

  4. Fun Facts • Pigs roll in mud to keep cool because they don’t have any sweat (makes me wonder where the saying “I’m sweating like a pig” comes from) • Pigs are smarter than dogs • Originated from Europe and Asia
