Introduction • The solar system consists of the sun, nine planets, moons, comets, and asteroids. Throughout this Web Quest you will learn about the nine planets that are in our solar system. You will also learn about the sun which is 99.85% of the matter in the solar system.
Task • Your job as students is to research the nine planets and the sun in a group of four. Each person in the group will be responsible for certain information about each of the planets. • The information you need to find throughout this Web Quest includes: • The mass and diameter of each planet and the sun. • How many moons each planet has. • The distance from the sun to each planet. • Pictures of each of the planets and the sun.
Process • Each group of four will decide who in their group is responsible for what information they will be looking up. • After the groups have gathered the information, they will organize all of the information into a paragraph. • Then depending on the number of students in the class, the groups will be given 1 or 2 planets to give an oral report on. • During the report all of the information that was required throughout the web quest should be presented to the class.
