1One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat in the house of a prominent Pharisee, he was being carefully watched. 2There in front of him was a man suffering from dropsy. Luke 14:1-11
3Jesus asked the Pharisees and experts in the law, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?” 4But they remained silent. So taking hold of the man, he healed him and sent him away. Luke 14:1-11
5Then he asked them, “If one of you has a son or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day, will you not immediately pull him out?” 6And they had nothing to say. Luke 14:1-11
7When he noticed how the guests picked the places of honor at the table, he told them this parable: 8“When someone invites you to a wedding feast, do not take the place of honor, for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited. Luke 14:1-11
Luke 14:1-11 9If so, the host who invited both of you will come and say to you, ‘Give this man your seat.’ Then, humiliated, you will have to take the least important place.
10But when you are invited, take the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he will say to you, ‘Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all your fellow guests. Luke 14:1-11
Luke 14:1-11 11For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

If you want to force yourself into the first seat, you will be humbled. • If you willingly take the last seat you will be exalted. • That’s heaven’s economy.
The attitude to watch out for is the “I’mtoo good for that” outlook. 2. The best seat in the house is the leastdesired seat
Everyone needs to have their M.B.A. 3. The best seat in the house is the learning seat MopBucketAttitude
Where do you think Jesus sat as He told this parable? 4. The best seat in the house is the Lord’s seat.
In our arrogance we need to get a glimpse of Jesus Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.
Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. (Philippians 2:3-8)
The best seat in the house is the last seat, the humble seat, because then it’s Godwho moves you up.
