How can schools establish better partnerships with parents that will ensure ongoing outcomes for their children? • Welcome everyone, you have taken the first step to establishing a better partnership with parents by seeking the strategies, learning about communities, and the power that collaborative partnerships have. • Some items we will cover are drawn from: • 1. The Office of schools plan for 2010-2011, • 2. The Stages of learning strategy papers, • 3. The ‘PEG’ approach to communication (Hughes & MacNaughton 1999) and explore a ‘collaborative approach to planning and practice’.(Stonehouse & Gonzalez-Mena, 2004) • We shall explore how a better partnership can improve outcomes in a mutual way, for schools, for communities, for children and their families through an ‘interpretive community.’
