  2. Purpose of MEPA Coordinate state environmental and development review and permitting processes. Provide meaningful opportunities for public review of potential environmental impacts of projects that require State permits, licenses, or approvals Assist State Agencies in developing feasible means to avoid environmental impacts, or if impacts can’t be avoided, to minimize and mitigate environmental impacts to the maximum extent practicable.

Typical MEPA Process Environmental Notification Form (ENF) Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) State Agencies can Act (Permits, Land Transfers, Financial Assistance) *The Environmental Monitor is published twice a month. The deadline to be published in the Environmental Monitor is the 15th day or the last day of each month.
