Everyday Grade ExpectationsMeeting Daily Objectives • 10 point rubric • 3 points: Dressed appropriately and prepared to learn • 2 points: Sportsmanship • Follows safety procedures, classrooms rooms, etiquettes, respects self/others/teachers • 2 points: Warm Ups • 2= Always engaged • 1= Somewhat engaged • 0=NOT ENGAGED • 3 points: Main Activity • 3=Always engaged • 2=Mostly engaged • 1=Rarely engaged • 0=NEVER ENGAGED

  8. Fitness Testing Term Grade • Participate in 2 out of 4 terms • Performance will be measured by your performance on the fitness tests and your raw score improvement over time in each of the 4 fitness component areas and the tests that measure them

Be prepared for Class • Physical Education Uniform: blue or black shorts and a white or gray t-shirt with last name only printed on the back • Combination Lock • Deodorant (stick only, No sprays are allowed) • Sweat clothes for cold weather (we will be going outside during warm and cold weather) • Proper tennis shoes- (shoes that lace and tie, must be tied) • Pocket folder with portfolio and a pencil (NO PENS) * If you lose your portfolio you will be responsible for printing a new one out from the staff website

  10. Excuses • Every student is expected to dress out and participate each day. Exceptions will be given only with written notificationfrom parents. The note should include: • - date • - reason for excuse • - length of time student is to be excused • - Parent/Guardian signature • - phonenumber where they can be reached • Participation grade will be based on your ability to assist during class ex. Referee, score keeper or you may be asked to complete a sportfolio assignment

Excuses cont…. • If you are unable to participate for up to 2 weeks your parents must fill out an activity restriction form (part 1 only) • If you are unable to participate for more than 2 weeks parts 1-3 must be filled out by your doctor • If the form is not received you will get a zero for participation and any work missed • To access the form please visit our webpage and print one off

  12. Locker Room Procedures • All students will have 5 to 7 minutes to get dressed, use bathroom and report to your squad lines. Any student not on time for roll call is considered late. Lateness will result in 2 point deductions. • Students will be given 5 to 7 minutes at the end of the period to get dressed back into school clothes. • Students should report back to their squad lines until the bell rings.

  13. PBIS Incentives • 5 Stamps= Anytime water break when in the building • 5 Stamps=Pencil • 10 Stamps=Pocket Folders • 15 Stamps= Free Friday’s

  14. Expectations • Come to class prepared • On Time • Dressed Appropriately • Do your best • Show respect to others, self and property • Good sportsmanship

Crisis Situations • Fire Drill Exit • Exit the gym through the rear gym doors quickly and quietly and report to your homeroom teacher • Tornado Drill • Report to your locker room and sit down against the on the floor against a locker • Lock Down • Report to the cardio room and strength training room and sit

Special Events and Clubs • Pappy Lorenzen Cross Country Meet • Thurs, Oct. 25th • Cross Country Club- Team will be selected on first come first serve basis • This Fall Club will meet for several weeks before the meet • Hugh B. Nolan Track Meet • Wednesday, May 22nd • Track club will begin in the Spring to prepare ourselves to represent our school in the County Track Meet • Students will be selected on a first come first serve basis and based off our track and field unit this Spring • Let’s Go Hawks!!!!!!!

Rock, Paper, Scissors Olympics • Celebrate the London Games • Get to know someone new • Conflict resolution for simple disputes • More activity than the traditional hand gestures • Three areas bronze, silver, and gold • Everyone starts at bronze, shake hands to introduce yourself and begin play by jumping 4 times and looking your at your partner face to face (no looking down)

  19. Go for the Gold • Throw rock, jump and land with feet together • Throw scissors jump and land in a forward lunge • Throw paper jump and land with feet apart • Win: advance to silver, then to gold; lose in gold then return to bronze • Last round lose: go back to your seat • Last person standing wins the prize
