Jiuzhaigou Valley is located in Nanping County, 450 kilometers to the north of Chengdu City. Its name is due to the existence of nine stockaded villages of Tibetan origin, and it is always regarded as a holy mountain by the Tibetan people. • Jiu zhai gou is a great masterpiece of nature, having dreamlike scenery, which combines blue lakes, waterfalls, verdant forests, snow-covered mountains, and the folk customs of the Tibetan and Qiang peoples. • Legend has it that long ago Dago, the mountain God had a crush on the goddess Semo, and he gave a mirror that was made from wind and cloud to her. However, the devil appeared and made trouble to Semo. Inadvertently, Semo broke the mirror into 108 pieces, which fell down to the earth and then turned to 108 colorful lakes. This lake is called Haizi by the locals. 九寨沟jiu zhai gou
Sichuan Food四川菜Si chuan cai • Sichuan food has bold flavors, particularly the pungency and spiciness resulting from liberal use of garlic and chili peppers, as well as the unique flavor of the Sichuan pepper. • Sichuan is colloquially known as the "heavenly country" due to its abundance of food and natural resources. The Sichuan people have beautiful views and love their spices, so most Szechuan dishes are spicy, although a typical meal includes non-spicy dishes to cool the palate.
