Why ABM Drive-Thru Re-design • Drive through ABMs are becoming readily available to users in most bank branches that have enough space for a car to drive through. • ABM Drive thru is there to provide users with the convenience of processing their transactions while sitting in their car. However through personal experiences, we realized current ABM machines lack: time efficiency, accessibility, and security.
PACT Analysis • The current affordances and limitations of the drive through ABM machines available to users. • The primary research method - survey to find out what exactly people like and don’t like about the current drive through ABMs.
PACT Analysis • Focus group where any willing participants can contribute ideas of how to make the drive through ABMs better suited to fit their needs. • Body-storming in order to simulate the different conditions that people using drive through ABMs may experience.
Survey Results • 56% use ABM Drive Thru Once a week • 30% for Convenience • 32.5% for avoid long lineups inside and weather related issues. • 20% they didn’t have to leave their seats (comfort) and others for a concern for safety
Survey Results not liked about ABMs • Distance from machine - 37.5% • Safety - 20% • Awkward to reach keypad - 15% • Vehicle size – 7.5% • Other - 20%
Design Proposal One • Simple re-design that will replace the primary ABM components. • Allow the user to pull main part of the machine with a handle closer to the vehicle in order to provide easier access to the keypad. • The head contains the basic number pad, screen with surrounding buttons, deposit slot, card slot and cash dispenser.
Design Proposal Two • Improves it further through mechanical automation. • Accommodate all Vehicles, individual’s height and reach. • Don’t have to park the car too close to the machine.
