Our target group: • Adult immigrants from Accommodation and Procedures Centre, Şomcuta Mare (refugees and migrants); • Foreign persons who live in Maramures county for different reasons: • Students at university level (from Ukraine and Moldavia) • Marriage • Job, business (from China, Italy, Turkey) • Missioners from Italy, USA, Indy • etc

  4. Our aim: the learning of Romanian language and cultural aspects by adult foreign persons who live in Maramures county

  6. Typology of the adult immigrants Level A1 For immigrants form Accommodation and Procedures Centre, Somcuta Mare Level A1 - A2 For other foreign persons (mariage, bussines…) Level B2 For peoples from Moldavia

  7. The courses in the Centre for Immigrants: • for 4 hours / week • Teacher: Anca Pascui

  8. Cotidian informal and nonformal education, through: • Friends • Colleagues (at job, at university) • Family • Media • Different other links with local community • Books • etc

  9. Participation at different activities regarding the culture, religious and sportive life of local community • Exemple :

  10. Steps for formal training – Level A1 • Oral lessons • Practical lessons (conversation about different subjects) • Reading and writting activities (basic elements)

  11. Specific occasion of learning • The children of immigrant families learns in local schools and offerts support for their parents to learn Romanian language and culture • The local NGOs offerts support in the same field.

  12. The motivation to learn the Romanian language: • We have immigrants and refugees in Accommodation and Procedures Centre. The other foreign people are a different situation. Their motivation are different to learn the Romanian language. • - The refugee, as a persons forced to leave the native county for different reason, have the right to benefit from the Romanian language course. They are not obliged to participate at these courses. • The immigrants are not interested to learn our official language, because their aim is to go in other countries from Vest Europe. Their participation at courses is voluntary and therefore is unrithmical. • For other foreign persons who live in Maramures county the Romanian language is important regarding their job / communication / partnership / studies…This persons choose to learn in nonformal and informal context.

The initial evaluation: • The school where are affiliate the class for immigrants from Accommodation and Procedure Centre Somcuta Mare organise all activities regarding their learning. • The initial evaluation are realized through conversation with evaluators, the reading of a short text and short writhed exercises. Also, is necessary to fill-in a quiz regarding different topics • The base of evaluation is the referential of European Union.

  14. The curricula: • oral lessons regarding usual vocabulary • the learning of Latin script • the learning of Romanian alphabet • grammar • writing and reading exercises • Communication in different situations (role-play, discussions etc. • For the immigrants illiterates, the best results obtained are in oral communication.

  17. The final evaluation: • At the final of Romanian language course (1 year), the school where the learners are affiliated, organizes the final evaluation. • After the final evaluation, the learners receives the graduation certificate regarding the level of their linguistically competences.
