Our target group: • Adult immigrants from Accommodation and Procedures Centre, Şomcuta Mare (refugees and migrants); • Foreign persons who live in Maramures county for different reasons: • Students at university level (from Ukraine and Moldavia) • Marriage • Job, business (from China, Italy, Turkey) • Missioners from Italy, USA, Indy • etc
Typology of the adult immigrants Level A1 For immigrants form Accommodation and Procedures Centre, Somcuta Mare Level A1 - A2 For other foreign persons (marriage, business…) Level B2 For peoples from Moldova Republic
The objective: the learning of Romanian language and cultural aspects by adult foreign persons who live in Maramures county
The curricula – organized in modules • oral lessons regarding usual vocabulary • learning of Latin script • learning of Romanian alphabet • grammar • writing and reading exercises • Communication in different situations (role-play, discussions etc. • For the illiterates immigrants, the best results obtained are in oral communication.

How to teach the Romanian, as a foreign language? • Through suggestive images; • teaching 3D; • using the role-play, commentaries, questions; • Formal context; • Informal context; • Non-formal context;
Target group – involved in intercultural activities • Level A2; B1+ • 1 Work-shop / month (September 2011 – May 2012); • Various topics related to how they perceive the self-integration in the adoption community; THE LEARNING OF A NEW LANGUAGE AND CULTURE is favored by EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING PROCESS
Evaluation • 4 learners (from Somcuta Mare Centre for Accommodation and Procedure for Immigrants) will be certified in June 2012 – A1 level; • The examination is organized at “Ioan Buteanu” High School, Somcuta Mare;
OUTPUT • The target group can use the Romanian language for different needs: • study; • job; • communication with other persons; • to facilitate the social inclusion for others foreign persons in our community.
Challenges for us: To avoid the situation regarding: • The xenophobia; • The racism; • The ethnic discrimination; • The “Invisible boundaries”: cultural, linguistic, social, and mental barriers.
Challenges for us: • To ameliorate our educational practices (methods, tools, curriculum etc) for teaching Romanian as a foreign language for adults; • To ameliorate the training of teachers for immigrants classes, through the transfer of specific European good practices.
Results: • The amelioration of our educational practices regarding the adults immigrants; • The positive regards of local community; • The enforcement of civic responsibility of local actors; • New tools for teaching; • Motivation for teachers, learners and local actors.
