What does it mean? Matthew 3:13-17
What is the feast of Epiphany? • Celebrating when our Lord Jesus Christ got baptized. • He didn’t need to, but He did it to set an example to us.
What does the word Epiphany mean? • Revelation • God, the Holy Trinity, revealed Himself to mankind - the Father speaking from Heaven, - the Son being baptized, - the Holy Spirit descending like a dove.
Why do we get baptized? • Rebirth, to be cleansed from the original sin • Through baptism, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in us
baptism of repentance • We still have baptism of repentance! • Washes away all our sins, • Keeps us white and pure • Keeps our “gown” clean, white and pure • Whenever it gets stained, have to wash it right away.
