  1. Start of School Update September 10, 2012

  2. Enrollment Vs. Last Spring

  3. Safe, Healthy, Welcoming Student code of conduct in effect at high school. Will examine implementing district wide. Teachers are being very proactive addressing some of the new handbook procedures at the high school. Secured front doors in place at SW and at the High School Customer Service for staff and students is what we are about. We need to ensure all have a quality experience. Something we need to place an emphasis on.

  4. Increase Achievement and Opportunity • Class sizes are at upper end of targets in a couple of elementary buildings • Recommend addition of 1 FTE in 2nd grade at Halverson to reduce class size • High School Upper Class students had significant schedule issues. Over 100 schedule changes took place first couple days of school. Historically schedule not completed until summer. Students will have their schedules in hand by the end of the school year

  5. Effective and Efficient Operations Lunches were slow first days of school, new system we implemented in May changed the procedure, allows time for cashiers to look at plate prior to approval. Fruits and vegetables must be served with each meal, some students did not understand this initially. District is looking at contracting with a collection agency to collect bad debt from parents who owe have perpetually high lunch balances.
