Importing Production information from Ks. Geol Survey into Geographix well tables
The next step involves preparing the spreadsheet for import into ‘Geographix’ • Several columns need to be added now to facilitate importing later. Steps taken now will speed up the process for all counties imported. • Need to Add BH Flag , Principal Meridian, and a Status • Status will be used later in filters to handle data spotting • Turn on Autosort on Data submenu • Sort by product (oil, gas, NULL) • Sort by County • Copy resulting rows to new spreadsheet. • We will use the KGS LEASE_KID as the unique ID • We will also import lat/long data • Last column to complete hyperlink is URL

Copy rows to new spreadsheet and save as CountyName_Product.xlsx
Open Geographix and WellbaseSelect File, Import, Spreadsheet
Select Location Congress from Upper Left Pulldown Menu. This shows which table you will be importing data into.

Select Tables to Process and Allow Updates of existing wells
After data import is completed for various tables. Next step is creating a Filter for KGSPROD status. Save filter then Create Wellbase Layer using KGSPROD filter
Change well symbol for KGSPROD status from location circle to “+” (plus sign) in well symbol manager and update layer using filter.

Viewing data using hyperlink. • Select hyperlink layer as active layer. • Select area of interest with mouse, (click and drag) • Right click with mouse to select “View wells in Wellbase” • Select documents button at bottom left of window • Select hyperlink and view. • Browser window will open and display data from Active Ks Geological Survey Energy website.
