    2. Overview Brief Introduction of the Office of the Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office. Establishment of Energy Efficiency Conservation Committee (EECC) and Brief Overview of the National Energy Policy. The current activities of EEC in Brunei Darussalam (year 2007).

    3. Brief Introduction Appointment of the Minister of Energy on 24th May 2005. Haji Alidi Mahmud, SOE Leader for Brunei Darussalam. Restructuring of the Energy Division Organisation Structure Chart,Office of the Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office on the 1st May 2007

    4. The Establishment of The Energy Efficiency Conservation Committee (EECC) Advisory Committee for the framework by planning, formulating and preparing programmes, activities, information to relevant stakeholders concentrating on the demand side of the energy sector. The main scope includes but not restricted to the following: Promoting public awareness on the importance of energy efficiency and conservation Formulating programs for EEC activities Current Committee Members: 1) Energy Division, Office of the Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office. 2) Petroleum Unit, Prime Minister’s Office 3) Department of Electrical Services, Prime Minister’s Office.

    5. National Energy Policy Drafting and Formulating the six main Top Priorities of the NEP compose of :- Resources Management Energy Efficiency and Conservation Education and Awareness Transportation Power and Market Deregulation and Research, Development and Demonstration.

    6. Brunei Darussalam EEC Activities 2007 The Energy Week 2007 to be officially launched by His Majesty’s The Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the International Convention Center, ICC. Slogan - Change Matters and Launching of EEC Mascot. Theme : Inculcating Energy Efficiency and Conservation. The Programme :- One Week Exhibition. Three day Symposium Seminar topics : 1)World Energy Challenges/Brunei Energy Outlook and Challenges; 2) Transportation Sector and Environment; 3) Energy Efficiency and Conservation; and 4) Alternative Energy (New and Renewable Energy)

    7. Brunei Darussalam EEC Activities 2007 Forty distinguished speakers Dr Weerawat Chantanakome (Executive Director of ACE), APERC, NEDO, IEEJ, Jobmac, Mitsubishi, Shell International and etc Launching of “Awg Cekmat’s Tips for Energy Saving Book Distribution of Energy Saving Bulbs Roadshow to all three Districts.

    8. PROMEEC Activities under the SOME-METI Work Programme (Energy Management) 2007 The Summary and Post Workshop of the PROMEEC (Buildings), PROMEEC (Major Industries and PROMEEC (Energy Management) under the ASEAN SOME-METI Work Programme 2006-2007 held in Oil and Gas Discovery Centre, Seria, Brunei Darussalam on 27-28 Feb 2007 Twenty-Five delegates attended the Workshop I.e representative from each ASEAN Member Countries, ECCJ and ACE. The Meeting was co-chaired by:- Mr Tsuzuru Nuibe, General Manager of PROMEEC Project, ECCJ Dr Prasert Sinsukprasert, Coordinator of the EEC-SSN, DEDE Mr Hj Abd Shawal Yaman, SDO, PMO Dr Weerawat Chantanakome, ACE Executive Director of ACE. Discussions and deliberations on the following :- Session 1 (Day 1) : PROMEEC (Major Industry) Session 2 (Day 1) : PROMEEC (Building) Session 3 (Day 2) : PROMEEC (Energy Management) Post-Workshop for PROMEEC (Major Industry, Building and Energy Management).
