GROUP WALKING • Personal skills and fitness • Responsible and resilient • Be honest with yourselves – make the most of the training. • Think about the level you are walking at....and then the type of walks you want to take the scouts on • Risk: terrain, time, weather, people - and dynamic. • Communication (this is not the time to be walking on egg-shells) • If things start to go awry..........what should be second nature • Flora and Fauna, Geology, Heritage knowledge
GROUP WALKING • Group dynamics • Be prepared to change your perception. • Keep assessing / Continually aware. • What are the boundaries set at. • How are you going to deal with the differing abilities of the group. • Think about how to get over / passed obstacles. What may be a breeze for one is another persons nemesis. • How interesting is the walk – will they come back again.

Think about the worst case scenarios.
